We understand that you may have questions regarding our slushie machine rentals, services, and pricing. Below are some common inquiries we receive, along with their answers to help guide you.
Rental Related
Q: Can I cancel my booking? A: The $20 machine rental is non refundable. The machine deposit will be return, if paid.
Q: Can I reschedule my booking? A: We regret to inform that all bookings are final once payment is made. Thus, please secure the booking of the facilities before committing to a machine rental date.
Q: What happens if the machine is out of order (due to unforeseen circumstances) on the day of my rental? A: In the unlikely event that we are unable to commit to the rental due to faulty machine, we will be refunding the rental + deposit back to you. Upon fixing the machine, you will get a 1 time free use of the machine for future events.
Q. What happens if I couldn’t return the machine in time? A. We allow a 30 mins grace period for returns. A penalty of $10 every 30 mins block will be imposed after that.
Q. Can I extend my booking? A. Yes, if the subsequent slot is still available for booking. Please submit a fresh booking and make payment via the website.
Q. Can I book the machine via calling? A. We would prefer that you go through the website so all booking information gets consolidated on the booking calendar.
Q. Can I include the machine deposit as part of the rental payment via credit card? A. Unfortunately not as we would like to minimize operation costs. Since deposits are refundable, we will transact the deposit via Paynow. The deposit will be due upon collection of the machine.
Q. Can I pay the $20 machine rental upon collecting the machine? A. We regret to inform that credit card payment will be required in order to confirm the booking and to avoid a clash in scheduling, the website is the only way to rent the machine.
Q. What happens if I accidentally damaged a machine part? A. The cost of the damaged part will be deducted from the deposit. Here are the cost of the parts i) Main Container: $200 ii) Auger: $80 iii) Drip Tray: $50 iv) Dispenser Guard: $30 v) Carry Case: $50 vi) Recipe Book: $30
Q. Do you accept rentals outside of North Gaia? A. Currently only restricted to North Gaia residents
Q. Are the rental timeslots fixed? A. Yes. The timing aligns with the rental of North Gaia's BBQ pit. For a longer rental duration, kindly consider renting 2 slots.

Operations & Handling Related
Q. Can I pour in hot liquid into the main container? A. No. Only pour in liquids at room temperature or chilled liquid if you want to reduce the slushing time.
Q. Can I put in solids into the main container? A. No, only pour in liquid. If you intend to put in ice cream, best to mix the ice cream and other liquids into a mixing bowl before pouring the mixture into the main container.
Q. How long do I need to wait before a drink is ready? A. The slushing time depends on the type of drink, quantity as well as the temperature of the liquid when poured in. On average, expect to slush between 40 to 60 mins
Q. How many cups can each batch serve? A. The maximum level is 1.9 litres. Based on a 6 oz cup, you can serve 10 cups. If you are using an 8 oz cup, it should get you 8 cups.
Q. Is it advisable to add in new liquid half way during the slushing process? A. Finish the current batch before adding in new liquid.
Q. Are the parts dishwasher safe? A. Use a gentle wash cycle for all removable parts. For the motor, do not wash or soak in water. Instead, wipe after use to avoid residues drying up.
Q. How do I know if the slushing cycle is complete and the drinks are ready? A. Use these steps to check. i) Temperature Bar Temperature bar should be mostly steady and not blinking. ii) Dispense a small quantity to check the liquid flow Slow, smooth flow = Ready Watery = Needs more time Barely moving = Too thick → add small liquid & remix iii) Visual cue When ready, drinks should be: Smooth, spoonable, holds soft peaks, no visible liquid pooling
Q. How do I know if the slushing cycle is complete and the drinks are ready? A. Use these steps to check. i) Temperature Bar Temperature bar should be mostly steady and not blinking. ii) Dispense a small quantity to check the liquid flow Slow, smooth flow = Ready Watery = Needs more time Barely moving = Too thick → add small liquid & remix iii) Visual cue When ready, drinks should be: Smooth, spoonable, holds soft peaks, no visible liquid pooling
Q. How long can I leave my drinks inside the machine? A. It’s important that the machine should be turned on as long as there are drinks inside and the quantity is still more than the minimum level. The drinks can be slushed for up to 6 hours in the main container. On the same note, avoid running empty or using very low sugar content liquids or plain water.
Q. Why is my drink not turning into slush after an hour of slushing? A. Possibly the sugar content is not enough. Consider adding some syrup
